DID YOU KNOW THESE FACTS ABOUT WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY?

Did you know that in 2019, according to Safe Work Australia 162 Australian workers were fatally injured while working, compared with 144 workers in 2018.  In 2020, 28 people had already been killed at work by 27th February.

In 2018, there were over 100,000 serious workers compensation claims.

WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY COURSE OVERVIEW

Health and safety in a workplace is governed by the work health and safety legislation and guidance of the State or Territory in which it is located. Under the legislation, a duty of care is imposed on all workers and/or persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) in the workplace.

The Workplace Health and Safety legislation means that all people in a work place have a responsibility for their own safety in the workplace - employers, workers and persons conducting a business or undertaking. In effect, this means everyone and anyone doing something in the workplace from the Managing Director to a third-party delivery driver.

Persons conducting a business or employers also have an obligation to provide training on WHS matters to their workers.
